History
KOAN was founded in 1991 to give Producers the opportunity to work with a distribution company they can trust. KOAN’s focus is to sell theatrical, PayTV, Satellite, Cable, Broadcast, Video and DVD rights to buyers worldwide. Its catalogue is made up of films, animation and documentaries. Since its creation, KOAN has always prided itself in the choice of programs it represents and was one of the first distribution companies to offer family programming at a time when stations had not yet understood the potential of the family market in the television industry.
How We Work
Every program presented to KOAN is carefully examined and evaluated with regard to its potential in the international market place. Because we value our relationships with the Producers we represent, we strive to communicate realistic expectations of each program’s potential. Once the program is included in KOAN’s catalogue, we develop a customized marketing strategy to maximize its revenue. In addition, each program is highly promoted at all of the international markets that KOAN attends. These markets include but are not limited to NATPE, AFM, MIPTV, MIPCOM, CANNES FILM FESTIVAL, and MIFED.
